TOURNAMENT MECHANICS AND GUIDELINES
Participants Profile
1. Participants to the Puzzle Blitz tournaments will be tandem Pairs, open to all age brackets.
2. Each tournament will compose of a total of six (6) Pairs. One tournament per day.
3. Participants will be allowed to bring puzzling paraphernalia to the tournament area but limited to sorting trays, task lights, photo/video cameras, and snacks.
Pre-Tournament Check-in
1. Registered participants must present themselves at the check-in desk at least 15 minutes before the start of the tournament.
2. Judges will escort participants to their respective tables.
Tournament Proper
1. Judges will distribute the tournament jigsaw puzzle boxes to the participants.
2. Unless specifically told to do so, at the official start of the game timer, participants cannot handle, unseal, or open the jigsaw puzzle boxes.
3. Participants must solve their jigsaw puzzles within two (2) hours.
4. The first Pair who finishes solving their puzzle before the maximum allotted time will be the tournament winner.
5. In case the maximum allotted time has expired and no one has completed their puzzles, Judges will count the remaining loose/unattached pieces of each Pair. Pair with the least number of unattached pieces wins.
6. After the winner is declared, other participants may opt to stay inside the game area to finish their puzzles. Judges will continue to monitor and record completion times until the official end of the event. Participants may also opt to finish their puzzles at home.
7. Participants will be allowed to leave the competition area, one at a time, for two-minute bathroom breaks. They must advise the Judges beforehand.
8. Participants will bring home their game puzzles as tokens from the event.
*Tournament Fee does not include your day pass. Please don't forget to secure your QC/Non-QC Day Pass or Express Pass to enter the event hall.
